Oyinlola Dairo
Oyinlola Dairo

What is your background?

I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, with an MBA in International Business. I am also certified by Institute of Export on Finance of International Trade and also certified by International Chamber of Commerce on Achievement of completion of Upskill600 in UCP600 and Documentary Letter of Credit. I started my career in a mortgage bank and progressed to a commercial bank with core competence in international trade and this I have applied to my work in Oceanic Bank.

What does your current role entail?

Currently, as a team member in Foreign Operations, my role entails bank wide training on Trade Products with emphasis on Form M processing. I also support the business units in delivering structured trade finance transactions to corporate and financial institution customers in meeting their profitability targets. I work on projects on automation of work flow to re-engineer the processes in our department.

What do you like about your job?

It affords me the opportunity to network with peers and senior management in the industry locally and internationally as I represent the bank at various fora and this exposure gives me a wide base of expertise.

What is it like to work at Oceanic Bank?

Oceanic Bank has afforded me the opportunity to learn, grow and also develop others. There is a friendly and peaceful work environment that enhances team work and networking.

Katherine Idemudia

What is your background?

I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Jos, Plateau State. I have an MBA degree from Federal university of Technology Owerri, Imo State and a Master of Science degree from Leeds Business School, Leeds, United Kingdom. My banking career began at Standard Trust Bank Ltd in 2001; I also had a stint with Accenture Technology Solution, and worked at First Bank of Nigeria Plc in different capacities before joining Oceanic Bank in 2009.

What does your current role entail?

• As head of Corporate Channels and Client Solution Delivery Team, my duties    entail leading complex (Tier 1 & 2) solution implementation after a cash    management or trade services proposal/sales, involving multiple products and    services or multiple locations.
• My team and I support the day-to-day operations of electronic banking    services and also provide sales support to Relationship Managers (RMs) and    Business Development Managers to secure new businesses. We work closely    with the sales team to refine customer solutions.
• I am fully accountable for the success of an implementation project. We    interface with customer’s implementation team(s), who may reside in multiple    locations. It is my responsibility to ensure my team delivers on their corporate    goals and objectives.

What do you like about your job?

• Spontaneity

Kenneth Asenime
Kenneth Asenime

What is your background?

I graduated as the best graduating student in the department of Library Science from Delta State University, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. I started my career in Money Market Association of Nigeria (now called Financial Markets Dealers Association) as a team member in the Research & Membership Development Department, with the responsibility of coordinating the pilot tests and eventual commencement of the two way quote market for bonds and treasury bills in the Nigerian financial market. I joined Oceanic bank in 2008 to drive the Market Intelligence department.

What does your current role entail?

As part of the market intelligence team, I have the responsibility of giving first hand information to my dealers and management of the bank, to keep the bank a step ahead of competition. Provide in-depth analysis of regulatory decisions, factoring the various possible implications and providing advise.

What do you like about your job?

I love the challenges that come with every new day. Nigeria being a developing economy means that laws are being enacted and one has to be abreast with changes being made, to always be better positioned and informed above our competition in the market place. I love to see my job as I see my favorite board game “chess” .

What is it like to work at Oceanic Bank?

Working with Oceanic Bank is a dream come true. The people and environment keeps you so relaxed. I describe working with Oceanic as being on a reality TV show, where everything is so natural but by the script. Sometimes when I look at staff background cutting across different ethnic groups in Nigeria and everybody having an equal chance to excel, it is encouraging and motivating.

Funwa Akinmade

What is your background?

I graduated in 1995 with a B.Sc in Economics; this was followed by an M.Sc in the same field in 2006. I started my banking career in 1996 and have over the years, worked in functions ranging from Branch Operations, to Corporate Strategy, to Electronic Banking.

What does your current role entail?

I am currently part of the Retail Banking Group, based in head office; the group interfaces with the bank’s branches, and assists the relationship managers in managing the individual, as well as small business customers. Specifically, my function as Head – Electronic Channels, revolves around setting the pace for the bank’s card and electronic channel products, with the main aim of driving the transition to electronic channels, as opposed to in-branch transactions.

What do you like about your job?

The fact that the field of electronic banking is such a rapidly changing one that entails diverse functions (Risk Management, Technology, Relationship Management etc), means that I have to always be innovative and in tune with the market; the best part of it all is that I interface with virtually every sphere of the bank, meeting great and intelligent people from whom there is always so much to learn.

What is it like to work at Oceanic Bank?

Working in Oceanic has been a blast! Asides the fact that staff are quite up to their tasks, the bank is an organization where the good is never good enough and you have to strive for the very best! Staff are quite cordial and fun to work with, especially on cross-functional projects.
